"Between the Leaves" was inspired by a Betta fish that I bought at a pet store. I bought him because he looked like he was sick and I wanted to give him a place to enjoy what remained of his life. However, after I transferred him into his new environment, he started to recover. This piece is about how our environment shapes our lives. The leaves are printed with transparent colors so that they leave their imprint on the figures of the fish. In doing so, they form new, brighter colors.
